Marisela Barbosa is a sustainable business practitioner with a successful track record of empowering both for profit and not for profit organizations to turn their inefficiencies into opportunities and achieve social responsibility, energy efficiency and sustainable growth. Her expertise in sustainable business development, proven ability to streamline operations and unique talent for empowering others ensures that organizations build the structures, processes, and human capacity necessary to achieve triple bottom line results.
She believes that transforming the way business is typically done is the key to ensuring that future generations have natural resources to use and protect. Because organizations serve as powerful catalysts for addressing not only economic, but also social and environmental concerns, she founded Green Hive a co-sharing work-space that serves as the gathering place for sustainability-focused businesses, organizations and youth. Her goal is to provide sustainability at work, and healthy and collaborative office spaces, promoting collaboration among businesses and organizations resulting in an easier way to work, connect, learn and grow by leveraging each other’s ideas and share activities and services. Through Green Hive Marisela provides consulting and training services specifically designed to improve the personal, social, economic and political opportunities of children, youth, families and individuals.
She is an active leader in Solano County having been appointed as a First Five Solano Commission Chair, serving as chair-elect of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, served as President of the Solano County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2011-2012, and 2012 Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee of the City of Vallejo, Honorary Commander of Travis Air Force Base. Her contributions to her community have been recognized by the Solano Hispanic Chamber who recognized her as the community advocate of the Year and the Spirit of Solano awards. Marisela received the 2014 Athena International Award from Vallejo Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor's community recognition award for her contributions in the area of advocacy for city of Vallejo.
Marisela earned an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from the School of Business and Leadership, Dominican University of California. BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and a Certification in Transportation from Pepperdine University.
